Saturday marked my first full day at home base after spending eight of the last nine days traveling for work.
It also, coincidentally, marked Maritime Day in Sausalito.
Held the first weekend in August, Maritime Day is how the Galilee Harbor Community Association celebrates arts and the sea.
Like a lot of community celebrations there are booths and beverages and music. What makes Maritime Day special is the people who live aboard the eclectic collection of houseboats in Galilee Harbor fling open the hatches for tours and boat rides. All free of charge, of course.
Robin and I strolled the marina and the festival grounds for an hour or two. It’s nice to spend some time at home port.
